Betsy Dokken, NP, MSN, CDE
Diabetes Nurse Practitioner, Arizona Health Sciences Center, Tucson Arizona

Betsy Dokken is a diabetes specialist with 17 years of experience in diabetes treatment, professional and patient education, and is a nationally known speaker in the field of diabetes. She has been a certified diabetes educator since 1988. She is also a Ph.D. candidate in the department of physiology at The University of Arizona College of Medicine.

Susan Mears, RN, CDE
Diabetes Consultant, Tucson, Arizona

Susan Mears is a diabetes specialist with 20 years of experience in diabetes management, patient and professional education, curriculum development and program administration. She has authored a multitude of publications for patients and professionals, is a past member of the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators, and was instrumental in the development of the American Diabetes Association’s National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education. She has been a certified diabetes educator since 1984.
